中国为即将举行的北京奥运会派出有史以来最大的体育代表团，一共有639名运动员参加所有28个竞技项目。
代表团今天(星期五)在北京的一个集会上亮相，成员包括属于美国国家篮球协会的休斯敦火箭队队员姚明，男子110米栏卫冕金牌得主刘翔等。
中国代表团的639名成员中，有165人四年前参加过雅典奥运会，其中40人还参加过2000年悉尼奥运会。
代表团还包括460名教练和其他官员，总人数将近一千一百人。
中国代表团将努力超越他们在雅典奥运会上得到的32枚金牌总数，这个数字比美国队少了四枚。
China is fielding its largest-ever Olympic team at the upcoming Beijing Games, with 639 athletes competing in all 28 sports.
The team was unveiled today (Friday) at a rally in Beijing. The contingent includes Yao Ming, a member of the U.S. National Basketball Association’s Houston Rockets, and defending 110 meters hurdling gold medalist Liu Xiang.
Of the 639 members of the Chinese team, 165 participated in the Athens Games four years ago, while 40 of them took part in the 2000 Sydney Games.
The delegation will also include 460 coaches and other officials, bringing the total size to nearly 11-hundred.
The Chinese team will attempt to surpass the 32 gold medals won at the Athens Olympics, four less than the United States.
