美国当选总统巴拉克.奥巴马今天(星期五)将在芝加哥和他的经济团队开会，并举行他赢得总统大选以来的首场记者会。
再过大约10个星期，奥巴马将就任总统，接手处理美国自大萧条以来最严重的经济危机。针对奥巴马行政当局人选的猜测越来越多，包括财政部长。预计奥巴马不久将宣布这一人选。
奥巴马挑选的白宫办公厅主任伊曼纽尔星期四接受了这一任命。伊曼纽尔是来自伊利诺伊州的国会众议员，曾经在前总统克林顿手下任职。奥巴马在声明中称伊曼纽尔是个“好朋友”。他说，他知道伊曼纽尔“完成任务”的能力无以伦比。
伊曼纽尔说，他将竭尽所能，帮助当选总统奥巴马把美国人民团结起来，实现美国需要的改变。
U.S. President-elect Barack Obama is meeting today (Friday) with his economic team in Chicago and holds his first news conference since winning the election.
Mr. Obama is about 10 weeks from taking office and inheriting the country’s worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. Speculation is mounting about his administration choices, including Treasury secretary, which he is expected to announce soon.
Mr. Obama’s pick for chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, accepted the job Thursday. Emanuel is an Illinois congressman who also served under former President Bill Clinton. In a statement, Mr. Obama called Emanuel a “good friend” and said he knows no one better at “getting things done.”
Emanuel said he will do everything he can to help the President-elect unite Americans and deliver the change the country needs.
