China announced cuts to fuel prices today (Thursday) for the first time in almost two years, extending a helping hand to Chinese motorists and companies as the country’s economy slows. Starting Friday, China’s National Development and Reform Commission says diesel fuel prices will be cut by 18 percent and gas prices by about 14 percent (13.8 percent).
Jet fuel prices will be slashed by 32 percent. The drop in jet fuel prices will be especially welcome by Chinese airlines, which are suffering heavy losses as demand slumps.
