美国国务卿希拉里·克林顿对看来是美军空袭造成的阿富汗平民丧生表示遗憾。
克林顿星期三在国务院与阿富汗总统卡尔扎伊和巴基斯坦总统扎尔达里会谈时做了上述表示。这两位总统当天稍晚将与奥巴马总统会谈。
克林顿国务卿说，奥巴马政府对平民伤亡深表遗憾，并说，美国和阿富汗政府将对此事展开联合调查。
卡尔扎伊感谢克林顿对阿富汗平民死伤表达的关切，并表示希望美国和阿富汗能够共同努力最终杜绝发生这类死伤的可能性。
克林顿说，美国、阿富汗和巴基斯坦面对极端分子这个共同的敌人。
卡尔扎伊和扎尔达里表示愿意合作。
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has expressed regret at the loss of civilian lives in Afghanistan, apparently by U.S. air strikes in the country.
Clinton spoke Wednesday at the State Department, in a meeting with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari. The two presidents meet later in the day with President Barack Obama.
Clinton said the Obama administration deeply regrets the civilian casualties and said that there will be a joint investigation by the U.S. and Afghan governments.
Mr. Karzai thanked Clinton for showing concern over those deaths, saying that he hopes the United States and Afghanistan can work together to eventually eliminate the possibility for such fatalities.
Clinton said the U.S., Afghanistan and Pakistan face a “common enemy” with extremists.
Mr. Karzai and Mr. Zardari expressed a willingness to work together.
