A gunman went on a shooting spree on the Pacific resort island of Saipan Friday, killing four people and wounding another eight before killing himself.Authorities say a two-year-old girl and a four-year-old boy were among those killed. Officials say all four victims were local residents.
Police say the shooting started Friday morning at a firing range (in Kannat Tabla) where the gunman was employed. He then drove to another part of the island (Last Command Post) and opened fire on a crowd of tourists, wounding eight people, including two children. Most of the tourists are reported to be South Koreans.The suspect next moved to another location (Banzai Cliff) and shot himself.Police have identified the shooter as Lee Zhong Ren and describe his motive as “a business deal gone bad.”
