U.S. President Barack Obama told world leaders at the final day of the Copenhagen climate change conference it is time for “the nations of the world to come together behind a common purpose. “Noting that time is running out Friday, Mr. Obama said “we are ready to get this done today but there has to be movement on all sides. “Negotiators meeting over the past two weeks have failed to finalize a global agreement on cutting greenhouse gas emissions blamed for global warming.

Disagreement between rich and poor countries over emission targets and financing has been a constant subject of tension. The White House says President Obama is meeting with world leaders representing developed and developing nations, including some he met with earlier in the day.
