Police have stepped up security in Iraq to prevent attacks against Shi’ites as well as the Christian minority as they celebrate Christmas.
In Mosul, four people were wounded during clashes between Christians and ethnic Shabak men. Police say at least four people were killed in separate acts of violence in Mosul, including three census workers who were shot and killed by unidentified gunmen. In northern Iraq, officials say a car bombing killed at least one Kurdish soldier and wounded 10 others. The attack took place in the town of Rabiyaa in Nineveh province near the border with Syria.
