中国官方的新华社说,中国全国气象中心预告说,星期三和星期四两天,中国12个省份和自治区都会降雪。预告说,这个星期会持续低温。

Severe cold weather is causing coal and power shortages across China, as people struggling to keep warm are sending energy demands soaring.The harsh weather has led to power rationing to businesses and other industries, in order to ensure uninterrupted supplies to homes.

Temperatures in Beijing fell to minus 16.7 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, the lowest in the capital in nearly 40 years.In central Hubei’s provincial capital Wuhan, a rare snowstorm dumped 10 centimeters onto the city closing schools.

The official Xinhua news agency reports China’s national meteorological center is forecasting snow in 12 provinces and autonomous regions for Wednesday and Thursday. Forecasters expect the cold temperatures to continue throughout the week.
