At least 200 protesters were arrested Thursday in St. Paul, Minnesota as they tried to march to the site of the Republican National Convention.
At least one-thousand protesters rallied for the final day of the convention. As they neared the center where the Republican convention was being held, they were blocked by police in riot gear.
A VOA reporter on the scene says the demonstrators had gathered to protest the war in Iraq and other issues. The reporter says police told the crowed to disperse, and protesters refused.
