Scientist Shu Quan-sheng pleaded guilty in a U.S. court (in Virginia) Monday to bribery and to violating the U.S. arms embargo against China. The cryogenics expert was arrested in September and charged with selling China technology for hydrogen-propelled rockets between 2003 and 2007.
Prosecutors said Shu also bribed Chinese officials to secure a lucrative contract for a French firm used as an intermediary for his high-tech company (AMAC International).
