中国国营电视台中国中央电视台对未经许可燃放烟花导致一座尚未竣工的豪华酒店发生严重火灾而道歉。这座酒店座落在北京的新央视大楼旁边。这场大火吞噬了尚未住人的44层文华东方酒店。在救火过程中，一名消防队员丧生，几名消防队员受伤。
中央电视台星期二发表声明， 对这场火灾造成的国家财产重大损失表示歉意。调查人员说，在这个建筑工地燃放烟花没有获得政府批准。
中国外交部发言人姜瑜说，现场施放的元宵节烟花比路边摊贩销售的要更强烈，酒店业主无视警方提出这种烟花属于非法的警告。
China’s state-run television broadcaster CCTV has apologized for an unlicensed fireworks display that caused a huge fire in an unfinished luxury hotel next to the network’s new headquarters in Beijing, The fire ravaged the 44-story Mandarin Oriental hotel, which was unoccupied. One fireman died and several others were injured fighting the blaze.
In a statement Tuesday, China Central Television apologized for the severe damage the fire had caused to the country’s property. Investigators say the fireworks that were set off in the network’s complex were not government-approved.
Foreign ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said the Lantern Festival fireworks were much more powerful than those sold at roadside stands, and the owners of the property ignored a police warning that such fireworks were illegal.
